Cigar Review: H. Upmann 1844 Lonsdale

H. Upmann 1844 Lonsdale

Size: 6.5×44
Price: $9.00
Wrapper: Java
Filler: Dominican Republic

Appearance: Looks like a good stick, small in diameter but an efficient cigar at least. Peanut butter color. Dark Peanut Butter.

Taste: Chestnut and tobacco. earthy and some good spice throughout the 1/3. The cigar has a small bite to it, with a roasted oats taste. 2/3 opens to a solid tobacco flavor, less of a ride. flavor goes in and out, but no new flavors emerge.

Smoking Characteristics: Good pull, slight canoe in the 2/3 through the 3/3. had good smoke throughout with each pull. Small cigar so 3/3 was hot and a bit too harsh.

Overall: Decent Smoke and flavor but otherwise forgettable. Duty free mass produced for sure.  This cigar lacks the attention that H. Upmann gives to their cigars. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on some other Upmann’s so we can set the record straight here.
