Smoking Characteristics: Strong ash on a medium pull. There is an even pull throughout the 1/3 of the cigar. The pull increases during the start of the 2/3, which unlocks some new flavors. On a windy day, with varied smoking speeds, she smoked true.

Taste: In true RP fashion, we have a nutty start with each puff having a slightly finish. Of the nutty tones, walnut is predominant. The peppery after tones hint at a BBQ note every so often. The 2/3 reveals a wonderful tobacco flavor that reminded me of a Padron Anniversary series I had recently. This cigar continues to be light and airy on the palate. Within the 2/3 I’m getting hints of pear or citrus. Can’t put my finger on it.
Taste Total: 23 out of 25

Overall: This cigar is light in the 1/3, and a solid smoke in the 2/3, creating a journey that I did not expect as some have claimed this cigar is “one dimensional.” I couldn’t disagree more. The 2003 Cameroon is a pleasure to smoke, and if you’re a chewer like me, its packed tight at the head so its a solid chew too. Overall, the flavor change and the grace on the palate make me a repeat customer, I’ve already added 5 more to the Humidor.
